My one year old

That's right. I have a one year old. I found myself looking back at old posts on here and looked at this one, our first one after bringing Mary home. She was so TINY! I don't miss those days at all though...

It's hard to believe we made it through a year, but I know time will go by so quickly and we'll be sending her off to college before we know it...

Here are two pictures of our little princess yesterday.

She had a bad diaper rash for the first time in her life, so she wasn't too happy most of the day. Or most of the day today for that matter, but she'll survive. It's been the best year of my life and also the hardest at the same time. On to year number 2 in life with Mary!

Wedding 2 of 6

We had our second wedding of the summer last weekend. It was beautiful and my cousin was beautiful! My cousin Allison is my closest cousin in age (we're 5th and 6th oldest out of 26 cousins). We went to Miami together and ended up living across the hall from each other our freshmen year. Before that time we didn't know each other very well and in fact were somewhat of rivals, especially in volleyball, although she admittedly could have kicked my butt any day:)
I'm so glad God worked it out so that we were RIGHT across the hall from each other freshmen year, what are the odds??? I would never have gotten to know my cousin! We spent a lot of time together that year and I realized that she has lots of spirit and is very fun. I don't know if I would have described her that way from my limited interactions with her before that time. So here's to Allison and Kevin!
The happy couple:

Another plus about the weekend is that I got to see my Jenny Bear! And Kath also came up, but I didn't get to see her too much:( Something about a high school reunion... Here's me and Jenny:

The one picture of me and Ian where we are both smiling...

Man it sucks to stand next to someone this gorgeous! Especially on her wedding day! Here's the bride:

I would never be a stay at home mom, I'd get bored

That's what someone said to me the other day. Inside my head I thought, 'well thank you for complementing my choice of work!' And outside I just smiled and nodded.

This comment took me off guard because not ONCE since I started staying home with Mary have I even come close to being bored. I haven't even thought that it was mundane. I guess I never really thought that someone might consider this boring. Everyone is different, but it can be frustrating when someone who has never even considered, much less tried, staying home makes a comment like that.

We also have ministry and other things to keep us busy. I guess not everyone has that...but I wake up every day knowing that I'm in the profession that God wants me to be in, and there's such a sense of fulfillment and purpose in what I do. I should have asked that person if she felt the same way:) I mean who could hate a job where you take care of this everyday:

Lake Cumberland

We got back from our vacation to Lake Cumberland on Sunday and it was such a great week! Mary and I went down on the previous Sunday planning to spend the week away from Daddy. It was so relaxing and great to see family. All I thought was that it would be so much better if Ian were there. Well, Thursday evening guess who shows up??? IAN!! We spent the rest of the week swimming, eating, shopping, and sightseeing.

Leaving the house reminded me of the times I used to leave Atlanta when I was young to come back home to Cincinnati. I would cry on the way home. Not that home wasn't good, but Jenny and Val weren't there! Anyway, leaving is always hard, but I've learned not to cry:)

Here is a picture of Ian and Mary in the lake. This girl LOVES water. She didn't even cry when we stuck her in the cold pool, she'd be perfectly content to just sit and splash for hours.

Me, Mary, Tina, and prego on the boat:

Me and Ian at Cumberland falls. Apparently that is the biggest falls west of the mississippi besides Niagra falls. I'm not quite sure what that means or why it's important. If you qualify anything enough it's going to be the biggest at something. Like I'm the biggest person in the office of my house...because it's only me and Mary.

Cali and Mary in the pool! Mary's fav place!
